Sleep Enhancing
Essential oils have a wide range of uses, from therapeutic to household cleaning.  One great way to use them is to improve the quality of your sleep. With our modern life – stress, nutrient-poor diet and always on brains, it’s no surprise we often find it difficult to get the quantity, and more importantly the quality, of sleep we need. The good news is that this can be fixed without having to resort to taking pills, medicines or other similar aids – essential oils can help you get the sleep you crave for.

With Diffuser
The essential oils can be used to help your sleep pattern in a number of different ways. You can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil, or even a blend of different ones, into a diffuser 45 minutes or so before you go to bed.  The diffuser will release the essential oils into the air and when you go to bed, the molecules from the essential oils will be inhaled through your nose, resulting in a great night’s sleep.  If you don’t want to use a diffuser, as an alternative you can drop a little essential oil onto your palms and cup them around your nose and inhale.

With Massage
Another way to get the essential oils into your body is to massage a few drops onto your feet, shoulders, neck or stomach before going to bed.  If you want this method to be even more effective, try mixing the essential oils with carrier oils like jojoba or coconut oil.  You can also try a few drops massaged into your neck and temples a few times a day, or a warm compress with a few drops of essential oil on your back before bed.

In Your Bath
A third way to use essential oils to help you sleep much better is to add a few drops to your bedtime bath.  You can add a few drops, 3 to 6, into the running water along with baking soda or Epsom salts to create a bath-time treat that will not only leave you smelling great, but looking forward to a nice, long sleep.

Try any – or why not all?- of the above to ensure you get that great sleep quality you both want and need.
