Lavender Essential Oil is Helpful during the Winter Season

The winter season is coming and most of us might suffer from dry skin, dry sinuses, chapped lips, chapped hands, and a lot more. Furthermore, insects like mosquitoes might attack and find shelter in our houses due to the cold weather. Lavender essential oil is also a huge help in calming your nerves this winter season.

Lavender oil can be used as a safe insect repellant, and you won’t get any side effects. Most insect repellents that are in the market right now are toxic, chemical based, and are usually unsafe for the eyes and the mucus membranes. Aside from being a great insect repellent, lavender oil positively balances the mood and stabilizes your mental vibes. So the next time you’re going to buy that chemical filled bug spray, think twice and try lavender essential oil instead.

The harsh winter wind may cause your lips to chap and sometimes a usual lip balm may not cure the pain. For this, make sure you use pure therapeutic-grade lavender oil that’s safe for ingesting. Apply as often as possible to your lips during the winter to relieve chapped, burning lips and to increase moisturizing and healing effects.

Also, use pure therapeutic-grade lavender oil to rub on chapped hands and fingers. It can be a moisturizer, a pain reliever and an anti-bacterial agent.

Since winter is the time when we can rarely wash our clothes outside without them freezing up, you could use lavender oil as a fabric freshener and deodorizer since you have to hang all your laundry inside the house and without sunlight.

You can also use lavender oil for you to make lavender lotion bars. These lotion bars will be very useful this winter season for moisturizing your whole body. All you have to do is mix cocoa butter, Shea butter, and beeswax in a container and melt it into the microwave. Stir every 30 seconds while melting. Then add the coconut oil into the mixture and continually stir and make sure everything is melted. Let the temperature drops 120 degrees, then add lavender essential oil, pour into molds and let the mixture cool.

Winter is not really a harsh season if you only know how to do a work around. Enjoy the holiday season!
